Boone

Daniel Boone was everything that people say he was. A brave man, an explorer, a trapper, a family man, and he spent a lot of time exploring, hunting and trapping in the mountains in Kentucky and Tennessee and he was always moving westward. He spent a lot of his time alone in Indian country and it was a dangerous place to be, but he loved to explore the country and blazed a lot of trails for others that came after him. A lot of people were afraid to go the places he went. One of his daughters was captured by the Shauwnee Indians and he trailed them for two weeks, but finally found her and brought his daughter safely home. Two of his sons were killed by the Shawnees. It's speculated he explored as far west as Montana, but he died in Missouri in his eighties.  more
